Items you will need. Steinberg Cubase. Antares Auto-Tune Auto-Tune has been used for years by studio engineers to correct the tonality of voices and instruments. In recent years it has become extremely popular due to the blatant use of it on recordings by the popular hip-hop artist T-Pain. Cubase 4 does not come with Auto-Tune. It is a separate VST plugin you need to install on your computer and load into Cubase.

Purchase the Auto-Tune plugin from Antares (see 'Resources'). Download and install Antares Auto-Tune on your computer. Launch Cubase 4 and open an existing project or create a new one.

Go to the 'Inserts' panel and click on a blank channel. See AutoTuneVST in the list of plugins that displays. Click on it to open Auto-Tune. If AutoTuneVST was included in your list of plugins, apply Auto-Tune to any track you want. If you do not see the plugin, continue on to steps 5 to 7. You must tell Cubase where it is.

Click on the 'Devices' menu and choose 'Plugin Information.' A new window opens. Click on the 'VST Plugins' tab and choose the 'Add' button. A search window opens.

Locate Antares Audio Technologies and expand it to view the sub-folders. Click the sub-folder 'Auto-Tune VST' and select 'OK.' You can now apply Auto-Tune to your Cubase tracks.
